On a Personal Note
Apologies y’all for being so absent for the last two weeks. I’m very aware of the fact that many of you are trying to get a hold of me; however, I’m leading a new program on “Safeguarding Freedom in the Digital World”—and this takes up all my resources right now. And while I feel like I don’t have a single second to breathe these days, designing these new programs is what gives me more fulfillment than anything else. It pushes my boundaries…in a good way. Constantly challenging myself is what keeps me fresh and on my feet. So, nothing to worry about. Quite the opposite! Luckily, I have an incredible support system that allows me to fully immerse myself in these new topics and experiences…
Nevertheless, the current vibe check rather looks like this:
Weltanschauung, Episode 01
I will use this week’s newsletter for some shameless self-promotion—because I launched a new podcast. Although we all know that this has been a long time coming; there has never been the right match for me to start a real podcast project. Yet, when my co-host Philipp approached me some weeks ago, it felt like the topic of liberal geopolitics was finally something where I could make a meaningful contribution.
So, from now on, we will be discussing everything related to international power politics on this platform—ranging from the current state of liberalism (the topic of the very first episode) and the idea of multi-polarity to more concrete questions, like what to make out of figures like Milei or Bukele. As you can sense immediately, our conversation will not only be guided by a distinctively liberal perspective; but also by our joint passion for Bitcoin.
At the heart of the project lies the aim to officially end “The End of Ideology” and to revive liberalism as a proper Weltanschauung that is able to make sense of the world we live in. We therefore want to reclaim the term Weltanschauung (worldview) which has been appropriated by esotericism for too long. In fact, this impacts our visibility from a very practical perspective: Because when you search for us on Spotify and other platforms, all sorts of weird stuff pop up. So, you could already do us a great favor by subscribing and leaving a review. This would help us enormously. So far, we are doing this only in German. But let’s see what the future holds!
On an interesting side note, we created all the materials for the podcast with the help of artificial intelligence. For example, I prompted DALL-E to combine a 1920s adaptation of Caspar David Friedrich’s “Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog” looking down on a Hieronymus Bosch-style world in chaos…and that’s what we got after some minor adjustments. Amazing stuff!
For my English-speaking friends: You can still check out the intro music. I used suno.ai to get the 1920s vibe and then added some lyrics with the help of ChatGPT. Banger!
In the neon glow of the roaring '20s,
Where chaos reigns and the spirit's plenty,
Everybody's dancing, lost in the beat,
But two souls in Germany, feeling the heat. The world's in turmoil, can't you see?
But everyone's lost in revelry,
Amidst the laughter, we are filled with doubt,
Two lone voices crying out.In this whirlwind of madness, we must find our way,
Back to making sense, let's seize the day.
Lost in the frenzy, we've forgotten how,
To build a world with meaning, let's start now. With a proper Weltanschauung.
Because if you want to understand the world;
To analyze the world.
You need a Weltanschauung.
A Beautiful Weltanschauung.
Peace,
SG
